The Last Straw! A Board Game on the Social Determinants of Health

The Last Straw! A Board Game on the Social Determinants of Health was developed by Kate Rossiter and Kate Reeve. This is a great example of the power of social issue games and the potential to use games to raise public awareness around critical social issues.

The game was created during a health promotion class at the University of Toronto in 2004 and since then it has won numerous awards. The two Kates have a website where you can purchase the game and learn how to use it in both small and large group settings. They also have two training videos posted on YouTube (see below).
